Kuala Lumpur is one of the cities with some of the most impressive rooftop bars in the world. I know it is a brave statement but it’s true. After staying nearly half a year in Malaysia’s booming capital these are my undisputed favorites when it comes to the best rooftop bars in Kuala Lumpur:
Heli Lounge Bar
The bar describes itself as the best kept secret in whole KL. Well, that might be true as this amazing rooftop bar is definitely not quite easy to find. But in case you find the right building you can just take the elevator to get to the bar’s indoor lounge on 33rd floor. As the outdoor terrace is actually a helipad during the day it only opens after 6pm (after 9pm “Casual Smart Wear” is required). As soon as you catch a drink downstairs you can go up and enjoy the sunset 360 degrees without any windows or fences in a nice and relaxing open-air lounge atmosphere.

Marini’s on 57
Marini’s is honestly my favorite bar in Kuala Lumpur. Located directly next to the Petronas Towers you enjoy your drink on the 57th floor only a stone’s throw from the magnificent Petronas Towers. Between 5pm – 9pm you even profit from Marini’s sunset happy hours with beer starting from only RM14. By the way Marini’s has also a whiskey lounge (expensive) and an Italian restaurant (very expensive)
SkyBar, Traders Hotel
Next to KLCC park the Traders Hotel’s SkyBar welcomes hotel guests and also visitors to one of the best rooftop bars in Kuala Lumpur: Swimming pool at day and bar at night. With a great view of the Twin Towers you can perfectly end an exhausting shopping day in KLCC with a cold beer or cocktail.

Man Tao Bar, Stripes Hotel
The top of KL’s Stripes Hotel offers an unobstructed view of Downtown KL. Next to the hotel pool you can enjoy all kinds of drinks and even some unique Tsingtao-beer inspired cocktails. Three times a week the bar has some interesting specials for you: Ladies Night on Tuesday (Free flow of wine for ladies), Gin Night on Friday (free flow of gin for RM88 per person) and Cocktail Night on Saturday (free flow of cocktails for RM88 per person)
Location: Chow Kit
Deepblue, The Face Suites
Deepblue is located on the FACE Suites’ sky deck on level 51 which offers one of the most spectacular views of Downtown KL. The stylish and futuristic bar does not only offer beer, cocktails and wine but also some of the best Malaysian food and a variety of Western food.
Location: Kampung Baru
The Reggae Mansion clearly stands out of this list. Even though it is not on top of a stylish hotel in a modern skyscraper it is still a great place especially for backpackers. The party hostel rooftop with a lovely view of KL’s Menara Tower is the perfect spot if you don’t want to spend too much money and like to meet other young travelers from all over the world. Furthermore there’s even a beer pong table to play some drinking games.
